Three mile Thursdays (on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Thursdays of the month) will be sanctioned AVA 5K walks. Therefore, you will be able to stamp your AVA books and the walks will cost the normal $3 fee. The walks take place from April through October and are approximately three miles long starting at different YRE locations throughout the area. All walks begin at 6:30pm with registration beginning at 6:15pm.

All REGISTRATION START/FINISH IS AT THE HOTEL.
Friday Oct 27th Walk After registering at the hotel you will drive to Wesselman Park, 551 N. Boeke Rd. The walk will start at the park and continue to the Evansville State Hospital grounds and along the neighborhoods that border both the park and Hospital. The walk is a 1A
Saturday Oct 28th Walk After registering at the hotel. You will drive to the Newburgh Lock and Dam, 6877 State Rd 66, Newburgh IN. The Operator can view eleven miles of river. The upper pool is 358 ft, and the lower pool is 342ft. The trail is along the new paved Rivertown Trail, which parallels the Ohio River, and through the historic downtown district. Strollers and wheelchairs may have some difficulty as some curbs in the downtown area are not cut. The trail is rated 2
Sunday Oct 29th Walk After registering at the hotel. You will drive to Burdette Park at 5100 Nurrenbern Road. The Burdette Park/University of Southern Indiana Nature trail, is a National Recreation traii and is part of the National Discovery Trail. You will walk on to the campus of the University of Southern Indiana. The walk is rated 2A Award The award is a 31/2 inch round Ceramic Ornament, with the five states, of the Mid-America Region on it. It is from Bonner’s Christmas store in Frankenmuth MI. 100 Awards have been ordered.
Hotel Information A block of rooms have been reserved at the Fairfield Inn West, 5400 Weston Rd, Evansville IN 47712. Phone 812-429-0900. Price is $99.00 + tax. Special rate ask for MID America Walking weekend. The hotel offers free breakfast.
Friday Oct 27, 2017 Meet and Greet B.Y.O. B This will be a Bring Your Own Booze. party. Because of the strict liquor laws in Indiana, it would be very expensive to buy a license and hire a bar tender. So bring your own. This way every one will get the alcohol that they like. Soft drinks and water will be available.

Historic Bellefontaine Cemetery brochure

Directions: I-70 in north St. Louis to exit 245B – West Florissant Rd. North one mile to the entrance to the cemetery. Take the first right turn and follow the arrows to the Lakeside Columbarium. Plenty of parking. Restrooms and snacks available at the start point.
