llinois Trekkers is one of the 305 American Volkssport Association (AVA) network of walking clubs in the U.S. Illinois Trekkers was the first AVA club formed in Illinois. It is a non-competitive club promoting personal fitness through walking, biking, and occasional swim events. The club sponsors several Volksmarch walks throughout the St. Louis area. A volksmarch is a leisurely walk through a scenic, historic, and/or interesting area over a clearly marked trail. All activities are open to the general public.
